| Enhancing Medical-Surgical Nursing Practice--2013 | Agency Application Cycle Now OPEN! BECOME A CO-SPONSORING AGENCY TODAY! Your organization is invited to partner with Continuing Nursing Education (UWCNE) at the University of Washington School of Nursing and the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) in offering a 14-week distance learning course, Enhancing Medical Surgical Nursing-2013. The course enhances nursing practice and supports nurses in preparing for certification. Upon successful completion, participants earn 42.5 contact hours.

| New Pain Management Rules for Healthcare Professionals | Pain Management Education Requirements The goal of the new pain management rules passed by the Washington state legislature is to keep patients safe and give practitioners who prescribe opioids the best practices in pain management. A key component of the rules is to encourage practitioners to become better educated in the safe and effective uses of these powerful drugs. The rules contain specific mandatory elements required by the law, as well as guidance for practitioners who care for patients with chronic noncancer pain. |
