About UW Nursing Grand Rounds
Nursing Grand Rounds are presented quarterly at the University of Washington (UW) to explore issues for nurses in acute care settings and highlight innovations in care delivery. The goal of UW Nursing Grand Rounds is to enhance patient outcomes by integrating academic, research and clinical nursing knowledge into everyday nursing practice. Teaching methods include lecture and discussion.

Target Audience
All registered nurses or health care professionals who have access to a computer and are interested in online learning.

Learning Objectives
(Specific learning objectives for each Nursing Grand Rounds are included with the handouts for that presentation.)
After completing a Nursing Grand Rounds presentation, you will be better able to:

  1. Describe how a specific health care issue influences nursing practice and patient outcomes.
  2. Discuss an evidence-based approach for dealing with the issue.
  3. Develop a plan for incorporating the approach into everyday practice.

View for Credit
To receive 1 contact hour of credit for completing a session, select the presentation(s) you wish to view. (Some Nursing Grand Round sessions have more than one video per session.) When you are finished viewing the video(s), you can either exit or register for credit. A small record-keeping fee of $10 will be charged* during registration. Once you submit payment and a short evaluation, you can print a certificate of completion.

*UWMC and UW School of Nursing Employees
You may register for credit at no cost. The fee will be underwritten by your agency.
