Course Description This workshop presents updated approaches to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of selected foot problems in older adults with opportunities to observe demonstrations of diagnostic and treatment procedures. Topics include assessment and diagnostic testing of lower extremity neurologic and vascular disease; biomechanical physical assessment of the foot; assessment and treatment of pedal skin conditions; and toenail assessment and care. Teaching methods include lecture, discussion, demonstration, and case study analysis. Participation in this workshop meets the five hour didactic eligibility requirement for Foot and Nail Care Certification awarded by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB).
