Course Description
Geriatric Health Promotion - Lecture Series - (Approved for CE by WA State DSHS, Approval Code CE122441, Training Program 0471)

This lecture series provides practical geriatric health promotion information for health care and social service professionals. The goal is to assist providers in developing and enhancing health promotion interventions to prevent disease and postpone further disabiity. Lectures cover an array of topics and were recorded during live telecasts from the University of Washington Health Sciences Center to clinical settings in the Pacific Northwest.

Each module is 1.5 contact hours and includes a lecture video, self-assessment post-test, and evaluation. To earn contact hours (1.5 per module), watch the lecture, complete the post-test, and submit the online evaluation. You may take the post-test as many times as needed to achieve the required score of 80%.

You may register for individual modules or for the entire series. For example, to earn 12 contact hours, register for 8 individual modules. If you need more contact hours or wish to access all the lectures in this course, register for the entire series. You may print a certificate at any time for the modules you have completed.

Comments from students:

  • The program has given me a vast amount of information and resources in a method that makes learning quite easy.
  • This is a great program for a busy adult family home owner. It was easy to do!
  • The curriculum was well-organized and easily read. The length of each module is just right--not too short or too long.
  • This is an excellent way to pick up CE credit. The information is useful not only in my own contacts with older adults, but is useful to pass on to caregivers and nursing home staff.
  • I am using the modules extensively now, especially when counseling older adults in my work. Your modules gave me a lot of insight and ideas for dealing with health issues of the elderly. Thank you for having this program.
