Conference 2019 | Dementia: Updates and Enhancing Care | Full Day Workshop

An innovative intervention developed at the University of Washington has been shown to successfully treat symptoms of dementia. Learn about this proven method as well as other updates in the management and treatment of dementia. This workshop will be offered in two parts. The morning portion is designed for all healthcare providers and the afternoon portion is relevant to prescribing clinicians. Participants may register for either the morning session only or the full day workshop.

Target Audience

Registered nurses, advanced nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants, physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, counselors and other interested healthcare professionals who practice in ambulatory care, home health care, and/or long-term care settings.

Objectives for Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify and assess cognitive impairment in primary care patients.
  2. Formulate a comprehensive treatment plan specific to the patient and caregiver’s needs.
  3. Integrate an evidence based non-pharmacologic intervention into the long-term management plan.
