Online Conference 2020 | Midwifery Update

Due to ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus, this conference will now be hosted as an online Zoom webinar. Watch the live webinar remotely from your home or office. Recordings will be made available after the webinar. If you miss one of the lectures, you can watch the recordings later and still get credit.

This conference provides an annual update on clinical issues in midwifery care. Join us for a day of lectures, discussions and case study analysis, networking and dialoguing with speakers. Attendees will receive 4 Pharmacology CE's at the Advanced Practice Level. 

Target Audience

Certified nurse midwives, licensed midwives, nurses, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists and other interested healthcare professionals.

Objectives for Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this conference, participants will be better able to:

  1. Discuss the physiologic and psychosocial factors that can lead to opioid dependency and the responsibility of opioid prescribers to treat pain without causing harm to our patients.
  2. Describe ways to provide health care that considers inclusiveness and sense of belonging.
  3. Appreciate the risks of gestational hypertension and “white coat” hypertension.
  4. To review common presentations for perinatal OCD, PTSD, Mania and Psychosis
  5. Describe the newest recommendations from ACOG regarding exercise in the perinatal period.
  6. Describe different types of consumer-driven genetic testing.
  7. Discuss low libido in women and hypoactive sexual desire disorder diagnosis and treatments.
