In this module, gain a better understanding of disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, their causes, management and corrective procedures. With a stronger knowledge of disease processes, nursing interventions and patient education will come easy.

Objectives for Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be better able to:

  1. Discuss the pathophysiology and management of a client with GI bleeding.
  2. Discuss patient education needs of a client with inflammatory bowel disease.
  3. Counsel a client on the risk factors/prevention for viral hepatitis.
