Objectives for Learning Outcomes

Part I:

  1. Discuss pain transmission and basic steps in nociception.
  2. Describe assessment of acute and chronic pain in the hospitalized patient.

Part II:

  1. Describe the indications and uses of opiods, NSAIDs and adjuvant analgesics in acute pain.
  2. Discuss non-pharmacological management of pain.
