Objectives for Learning Outcomes

After completing this session, you will be able to:

  1. "Step back" from your clinical setting and describe actions you can take to reduce patient harm through improved infection prevention and control.
  2. Have the tools to improve quality of care, shorten length of stay and perhaps save a life by asking each day, "Are these lines, drains and foley catheters still needed today?"
  3. Ask what steps can my patient and I take to lower their risk of a surgical site infection?
