You do everything you can to keep your patients safe, but are you taking all necessary steps to protect yourself and your license? This module will give you important information on how, by understanding your scope of practice, you can find peace of mind when faced with complicated legal and ethical situations.

Objectives for Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be better able to:

  1. Describe what a tort is.
  2. Describe a scenario in which a nurse could be charged with battery.
  3. List two sets of documents they need to understand in order to protect their licenses.
