Understanding Psychopharmacology and the Neurophysiological Basis of Emotion and Cognition

This lecture covers the history and advances in biopsychosocial research over the past 20 years including “The Decade of the Brain.”  It explores key neurotransmitters, pathways and circuits that provide the basis for rational psychopharmacology. Students will examine advances, limitations and neuro-ethical implications of current research in neuroscience related to cognition and emotion.
 
This course was recorded in June 2012 at a conference provided by Continuing Nursing Education at the Univeristy of Washington School of Nursing. Teaching methods include video, audio and handouts. 
 
Publish Date: July 1, 2012. This course will be available for three years from this date.
