Feasibility Planning for Public Health Business Plans

Famer's market in the Seattle U-District.Do you have an idea for a new revenue-generating program or a program for which you want to write a business plan? This course will take you through the process of creating a feasibility plan, a necessary step before writing a full business plan, to determine whether your idea is worth pursuing. This course will help you know what to consider when writing your feasibility plan and which sources will provide pertinent information.

This course is co-provided by the Northwest Center for Public Health Practice (NWCPHP) and Continuing Nursing Education (UWCNE) at the University of Washington.

Target Audience

Managers and program planners in local health departments.

Objectives for Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, you will be better able to:

  • Answer the question “is this a good idea?”
  • Gather data and research information needed to write the feasibility plan
  • Write a feasibility plan (in preparation for a full business plan)
