​Description

This online lecture series is designed as a neuropsychotropic pharmacology update at the advanced practice level. Sessions focus on current recommendations and controversies in drug therapy for common neuropsychiatric health concerns. Teaching methods include lecture, discussion and case analysis. 

This activity set was published July 3, 2018. It will expire July 3, 2021.

 

Target Audience

For psychiatric nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurses, pharmacists and other interested healthcare professionals.

 

Objectives for Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be better able to:

  1. Obtain a complete headache history.
  2. Recognize common pharmacologic use in delirium.
  3. Discuss common outcome trajectories in people with ASD and defining “high-functioning” ASD. 
  4. Describe the scope and manifestations of PTSD/MST in the military.
  5. Critically review benefits of common medications.
  6. Identify appropriate assessment tools for ADHD.
  7. Discuss strategies for safe and rational opioid prescribing.
