Trauma, PTSD and Psychopharmacology

This module addresses trauma-informed care as well as specific treatment modalities for both veterans and non-veterans experiencing residuals of psychological trauma. 

Target Audience

Advanced practice nurse practitioners, especially psychiatric and family nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurses, pharmacists and other interested healthcare professionals. 

Objectives for Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be better able to:

  1. Differentiate key clinical features across the traumatic-stress spectrum from acute stress to complex PTSD.
  2. Identify evidence-based interventions and the role of psychopharmacology in treating PTSD symptoms.
  3. Identify other co-occurring disorders in making treatment decisions for PTSD.
